Vernon Steiner, Senior Vice-President of National Claims for Zenith Insurance Company, was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the California Workers’ Compensation Institute (CWCI) for 2014 at the Institute’s 50th annual meeting in San Francisco.
Joining Mr. Steiner on the Institute’s 2014 Executive Committee will be former CWCI Chairmen T. Hale Johnston of Employers Compensation Insurance Company and Roger L. Moseley of Alaska National Insurance Company; John Dickey of Liberty Mutual Insurance; Martin Brady of Schools Insurance Authority; Jon Gice of Travelers; and Susan Gordon of Zurich North America.
Also serving on CWCI’s 2014 Board of Directors will be Henry O. Schramm, II, ACE USA; Rose Barrett, AIG; James Scardino/Nora Greathouse, AmTrust North America; Bryan Bogardus, CompWest Insurance Company; Robert L. King, Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company; Kevin Harnetiaux, The Hartford Insurance Group; Janice Murphy, Kaiser Permanente; Janet Frank, Pacific Compensation Insurance Company; Eric Hansen, Preferred Employers Group; and Carol R. Newman, State Compensation Insurance Fund.
The Institute, established in 1964, is a private, nonprofit association working to improve California workers’ compensation through research, information, education and representation. CWCI members include 23 insurer groups (composed of nearly 200 underwriting companies that write and service more than 70 percent of California statewide workers’ compensation premium, as well as 23 of the largest public and private self-insured employers in the state).
